Why has my doctor prescribed PYLERA^®?

Now that we know that H. pylori causes 90% of duodenal ulcers (see side bar section for more information about duodenal ulcers), combinations of medications including antibiotics are used to cure ulcers. Clinical studies have shown that triple therapy regimens (two antibiotics and an acid suppressor) have been effective.^2,3 In recent years, concern about treatment failures and allergic reaction has motivated medical researchers to develop effective medications that avoid these problems.
